New Year is around the corner, which means it's time to make amends with the last 365 days and make resolutions for better and wiser versions of ourselves in 2018.
As Ernest Hemingway put it; "True nobility is being superior to your former self."
We're not experts at weight loss or work-life balance, but we've learned a few things about tech savvy parenting over the past years and put together a couple of (reasonable) tips and goals for you!
Spend less time on your phone. Not only are your kinds noticing, but the California Department of Public Health issued a warning against the hazards of cellphone radiation this month. You decide which is a good enough reason to keep your phone as far away as possible!
Don't drive and text. They're also paying attention if you're using your phone where you're not supposed to. According to a Common Sense Media poll, 51% of teens reported seeing their parents checking and/or using their mobile devices while driving.
Yell less. Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Michigan found that tweens and teens whose parents yelled for discipline had increased behavioral issues including being violent. Psst... there's always a red button on your KoalaSafe app to quietly pause the internet.
Recharge. And we don't mean your phone. You probably heard this instruction many times on the plane; "If you are traveling with a minor, please put your own mask before helping the minor." Make sure to take care of your mental and physical health before helping your child.
We thank you for being a part of our family in 2017 and look forward to providing you with bigger and better parenting tools in 2018!
